SpecialChem acquires online content / Data and applications center sold to M-base
Paris-based chemical industry service provider SpecialChem (www.specialchem.com) has acquired online content and resource platform of plastics e-marketplace Omnexus (European HQ: CH-8804 Wädenswill; www.omnexus.com). The service was relaunched with new features on 8 December 2003 under the same web address. There are no plans for a revival of the transaction function. The original Omnexus, launched in 2000 by BASF, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and Ticona, was shut down at the end of November. Along with news and web seminars, SpecialChem already operates service platforms for plastics additives & colours, adhesives & sealants, and paints, coatings & inks. Separately, Omnexus´ “Material Data and Applications Center” will be acquired by M-Base Software+ Engineering (D-52068 Aachen; www.m-base.de), which helped develop the data base.
