Painting line at French facility opens / Supply for major automotive customers
French car parts supplier Novares (Paris; www.novaresteam.com) has opened a new painting unit in Sainte Marguerite, in the country’s northeast. The company has spent EUR 8.5m to build the 600 m² extension to further service six major automotive customers, namely PSA, Fiat, Volvo, Daimler, Opel and Renault. The line can produce various complex shapes for exterior parts, such as spoilers, door protectors, door handles and front grills, as well as interior parts such as components for instrument panels and central consoles.
The paint line comprises six robotised cabins that manage a fully automated system for cleaning, surface treatment and painting. In addition, and in anticipation of future trends, the line is equipped with the latest-generation electrostatic gun technology for painting 3D parts. Novares said the process is designed for solvent-borne paint and meets current EU volatile organic compound (VOC) emission standards.
