Somya Abrol takes over as Editor-in-Chief of PIE

As of 1 April, Somya Abrol has taken over as Editor-in-Chief of Plastics Information Europe (Plasteurope.com). She succeeds Ulrike Mau, who had combined the role with her position as Managing Director since 2023.
With 16 years of international journalism experience, Abrol began her career reporting human interest and health stories before moving into international politics and B2B publishing. Over the past six years at PIE, she has developed a strong editorial focus on packaging innovation and sustainability within the plastics industry.
Mau will now dedicate her full attention to the company’s strategic development as Managing Director of KI.PIE Group, while Abrol will lead the editorial team in expanding PIE’s critical coverage of the fast-evolving plastics value chain to cater to industry leaders’ specific needs.
