German packaging machinery supplier Multivac (Wolfertschwenden; www.multivac.com) has announced the expansion of its product portfolio in the tray sealer sector through a collaboration with packaging manufacturer ItalianPack (Como; www.italianpack.com). As part of the deal, the German company has a taken a three-year purchase option for 25.1% of the shares in the tray sealer manufacturer.

Founded in 1988, the Italian company now has 70 employees and reported annual sales of EUR 13.7m in 2020. It distributes its products worldwide both through a dealer network and directly.

With more than 85 subsidiaries, a presence in 165 national markets, and 700 employees globally, Multivac said it is ideally positioned to contribute to the successful marketing of Italianpack’s tray sealers worldwide. As part of the cooperation, the smaller model series of the Multivac brand tray sealers manufactured by Italianpack will be sold through the German partner’s international sales and service network.
