Quality of rPET flakes improved
Germany’s MultiPet (Bernburg; www.mp-bbg.eu) has invested EUR 1.2m in “significant quality improvements” to its rPET flakes portfolio. The money has been targeted for additional aggregates fixed on the existing plant components, which guarantee significant improvements in the flake sorting process, company CEO Herbert Snell explained. The new machinery enables the separation of foreign polymers as well as a post-sorting of colours. The company said it is now able to better eliminate impurities and incorrect colours.

The new equipment has resulted in a re-evaluation of flake specifications as well as the threshold for impurities. Further details are available on the company’s website.
