Major expansion of LDPE film recycling / EUR 30 mn for second plant at eastern German site
Dutch recycler Morssinkhof-Rymoplast (Lichtenvoorde; www.morssinkhofplastics.nl) says it will invest around EUR 30 mn to increase its recycling capacity through the construction of a second processing facility in Markranstädt, Germany. Low-density polyethylene waste reclaim capacity at the 8,700 m² plant is expected to be 30,000 t/y.

According to the company, material from the plant is to be available from Q1 2023, and the expansion is expected to create up to 45 new jobs. Upon completion of the plant, the company said it will have group-wide LDPE recycling capacity of more than 100,000 t/y.

“The plant is strategically located in the eastern part of Germany so that we can better serve our German and Eastern European customers,” said Rymoplast group co-owner Rolf Morssinkhof, who added that the immediate vicinity of the existing plant in Markranstädt offers synergies.
Facility to be built near rPET plant
At a facility formerly owned by German car industry supplier Fehrer Automotive (Kitzingen; www.fehrer.com), the Dutch firm has been operating a PET recycling plant for the past year (see Plasteurope.com of 23.07.2019). Capacity is cited at around 40,000 t/y of regranulate made with the so-called MoPET process.

The recycler produces rPET rHDPE, rLDPE, and rPP from household and industrial waste at nine other locations in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and the company recently intensified its cooperation with Danish deposit system operator Dansk Retursystem (see Plasteurope.com of 21.09.2021).
