Automotive supplier to invest in Morocco / New plant will supply Peugeot CitroŽn
Automotive OEM supplier Mecaplast (Monaco; is planning to build a new 10,000 m≤ injection moulding plant at Kenitra / Morocco, some 40 km north of the countryís capital Rabat. As CEO Pierre Boulet told, the company intends to invest EUR 25-30m at the new 50,000 m≤ site. Construction is due to begin at the end of 2016, with completion expected a year later. Initially, the company will produce plastic parts for the nearby Peugeot CitroŽn PSA assembly plant, but there are also ongoing talks with Renault about supplying the latterís plant at Tangier / Morocco.

In addition to the injection moulding facility, Mecaplast will also invest in a 2,000 m≤ automotive paint shop with a projected workforce of 200-300 employees at the final stage. According to Boulet, the overall investment will generate sales of around EUR 30m annually. For 2016, he expects revenues of approximately EUR 738m, up slightly versus the previous year's sales of EUR 734m.

At the end of April, the Monaco-based OEM supplier opened a new facility at Zavar / Slovakia which will mainly supply PSA at Trnava / Slovakia Ė see of 31.05.2016.
