MAUSER
IBC reconditioning joint venture with Manchester Drums / Wider footprint in UK market
Joining hands to offer a more comprehensive service to the UK intermediate bulk container (IBC) market, Mauser’s (Brühl / Germany; www.mausergroup.com) National Container Group (NCG; www.ncg-europe.com) subsidiary has set up a joint venture with Manchester Drums (MDL, Manchester / UK; www.mdlgroup.co.uk). Based in Manchester, NCG-MDL UK will offer IBC washing, re-bottling and laundry services alongside HDPE recycling. The new company will also re-collect empty IBCs across the UK.
The two companies said NCG-MDL will be situated at a new site they recently invested in – no financial details were provided – and will be headed by Jenny Minnock, the daughter of MDL founder Gary Cornforth. NCG EMEA head Ernest van den Boogerd said NCG-MDL will help Mauser expand its presence in the UK and Ireland and allow it to better service its customers in the region.
Mauser has set up similar joint ventures in the past, including with Janus Vaten (Oosterhout / The Netherlands; www.janusvaten.nl) for the Benelux and northern French market (see Plasteurope.com of 25.06.2015).
