Filter manufacturer plans to shutter plant in Speyer, Germany / Around 600 employees to be affected

Filtration specialist Mann+Hummel (M+H, Ludwigsburg, Germany; www.mann-hummel.com) plans to close its Speyer site in Germany by the end of 2028 at the latest. The company has announced that the production and associated logistics activities for filtration products are to be gradually relocated to other plants. Around 600 employees work in Speyer, 400 of whom are in production.

Mann+Hummel cited plans to consolidate production volumes, leverage economies of scale, and invest in automated manufacturing processes as the reasons behind the proposed closure. The company, which operates more than 80 sites worldwide, said the move is intended to strengthen its competitiveness.
In Germany, M+H operates further plants in Ludwigsburg, Heilbronn, Himmelkron, Maintal, Marklkofen, Sprockhövel, Wiesbaden, and Wolfsburg.
