Major packaging group Lumson (Capergnanica / Italy; www.lumson.com) has agreed to acquire plastic moulding specialist Leoplast (Arignano / Italy; www.leoplastgroup.com). The company will be gradually integrated into Lumson, which produces and distributes primary packaging for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical markets.

Lumson said the merger will support its development in international markets and enlarge its range of make-up products by introducing an extended offering of standard and custom lipsticks as well as strengthening Leoplast’s production capacity. The packaging company added that the acquisition is part of its strategy to become a privileged partner for its customers.

Financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.
