LITERATURE
“Discovering polyurethanes”
The book “Discovering Polyurethanes” by Konrad Uhlig, published by the Carl Hanser Verlag, Munich, provides a concise yet easy-to-understand introduction into the wide field of polyurethanes. The publication is aimed above all at PU converters, but also gives PU users and designers of polyurethane machinery and equipment all kinds of information on polyurethane raw materials, their processing and application technology. The author has adopted a concept which is rather different from that of a normal textbook; he takes non-chemists and polyurethane novices through an introduction to the history, resources and production methods of the raw materials, and only then goes into the chemistry of polyurethanes. Later chapters are dedicated to current topics such as quality assurance and recycling.
