LEHMANN & VOSS
Introducing carbon-fibre reinforced “Luvocom” high-performance compounds for use in drinking water applications / Suitable as metal replacement
German compounder and distributor Lehmann & Voss (LuV, Hamburg; www.lehvoss.de/eng) has added a new grade to its “Luvocom” range of high-performance compounds. The carbon fibre-reinforced type is designed especially for drinking water applications, specifically for bearings or sealings that require both reliability and functionality.

LuV said the grades were developed with the demanding mechanical and tribological requirements of drinking water applications in mind, and offer both higher strength and lower wear during usage. Capable of replacing metal or sintered carbon, the compounds take account of regulations for material in contact with drinking water, including KTW, WRAS and ACS, LuV added.

The German group offers customers help in the selection and processing of the materials, and also assists in engineering design and obtaining the necessary approval for the components.
