Coexpan and Emsur open packaging innovation centre in Madrid
Grupo Lantero’s (Madrid / Spain; www.grupolantero.com) rigid plastic packaging division Coexpan (Madrid; www.coexpan.com) and flexible packaging division Emsur (Madrid; www.emsur.com) have opened a new innovation and development centre in Madrid. The centre, named “Innotech” (www.coexpan-emsur.com/innotech), has over 1,000 m² of space and is to be a point of collaboration for customers, suppliers, associations, public bodies and universities, among others.
Innotech’s multidisciplinary work areas contain equipment such as a pilot rigid and flexible coextrusion line, pilot lamination line, form-fill-seal (FFS) packaging line and sleeve tunnel. The centre will also include packaging advice and assessment, material tests, training and capacity-building services as well as lab analyses.

Coexpan manufactures rigid plastic sheets and thermoformed products for the packaging industry. The division operates 13 production plants in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Russia and Spain) and the Americas (Brazil, Chile – see Plasteurope.com of 15.02.2019 – and Mexico) producing packaging made from PS, PP, PET and PLA. Its production capacity is more than 200,000 t/y.
Emsur manufactures flexible packaging primarily for the food sector, with both rotogravure and flexographic printing. Its products include lids, sleeves, pouches, bags and die cuts. The Grupo Lantero flexibles division has nine production facilities across Europe (France, Poland, Russia – see Plasteurope.com of 23.01.2019 – and Spain) and the Americas (Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the US).
