In future, customers are expected to be able to test complete production cells at the site under real-life conditions, including automation and peripheral solutions. They are also to be able to optimise material selection – including recycled raw materials – and validate their processes in practical production runs. The aim is to increase material efficiency, shorten lead times and thus improve the economic viability of customer projects, explains Dan Hagström, managing director of K.D. Feddersen Distribution in the Nordic countries.

According to the firm, the centre is scheduled to open in December 2026, with K.D. Feddersen Plastics Machinery, K.D. Feddersen Distribution, and K.D. Feddersen Norden Holding all set to relocate to the new premises. The group’s machinery division has been active since 1986, but only really gathered momentum in 2016 following the acquisition of the then machinery distributor Forvema.
Today, the portfolio extends beyond injection moulding machines – including those from Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery – to increasingly encompass equipment for recycling applications. This includes shredders, sorting systems and washing plants, as well as solutions for extrusion, pelletising, and compounding. The new competence centre is being designed and built by Swedish property developer RPZ Fastigheter, with the building to be occupied by the Feddersen Group as a tenant.
