For the second day in a row, the number of visitors at this year’s “K” exceeded that of 2013 by 3,000. Following 26,000 visitors on Wednesday, 45,000 people came yesterday – meaning “K 2016” is headed for a record. With 71,000 entrances in two days, this year’s edition has already exceeded that of the previous fair by 6,000 visitors or 10%. There were times when the fairgrounds were so packed, that it was almost impossible to make your way through the crowds – especially at the height of product presentations or special shows.

“We did not have enough staff at our booth,” a number of exhibitors said, adding that the amount of visitors took them by surprise. Some even ordered additional people to Düsseldorf as reinforcement. The weather gods again may have played a role. Following a windy Wednesday, the near permanent trickle on Thursday once again drove visitors into the halls.
