Building plastics machinery closer to the customers / Turnover DM 400m
Increasing costs in Germany are forcing Krupp Maschinentechnik GmbH (D-45117 Essen) to change its production strategy and build more machines outside Germany, closer to the customers. Sales of some DM 400m make plastics and rubber processing machinery a core business for the group, said CEO Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Dalhoff at a K '95 press conference in Düsseldorf. From purchasing components locally, Krupp will build up assembly of machines in China, Brazil, USA and Eastern Europe. In line with strategy, Krupp Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH (Kautextstr. 54, D-53229 Bonn) will expand its joint venture with Shunde Sunny Group in China to a machinery construction centre. Krupp Corpoplast GmbH (Meiendorfer Str. 203, D-22145 Hamburg) will begin assembly of stretch blow-moulding machines in Brazil while, in the USA, the present operation of fitting-out machines with US electrical equipment will be developed to assembly of complete machines, with basic PET preforming injection machines for PET from Engel America.
