Thermoplastic elastomer capacity increase in Malaysia

German thermoplastic elastomers specialist Kraiburg TPE (Waldkraiburg; www.kraiburg-tpe.com) is expanding its TPE production in Asia. The company has announced that in December 2018, a new TPE line is scheduled to start operations at the company's plant in Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia. The production line adds 35% to the company's capacity – its plant in Malaysia currently has a nameplate capacity of 10,000 t/y of TPE – see Plasteurope.com of 29.01.2018.

The expansion will raise Kraiburg's combined production capabilities worldwide to 60,000 t/y, which is from three production sites in Waldkraiburg, Kuala Lumpur and Buford, Georgia / USA. Kraiburg is also expanding its office and warehouse space at the Malaysian site and announced it will extend its sales network in Hanoi / Vietnam.
