KRAHN CHEMIE
Regional hub for CEE opens in Austria
Chemical distributor Krahn Chemie (Hamburg, Germany; www.krahn.de) said it has opened a new subsidiary in Vienna, which is also to serve as a regional hub for its businesses and sales in the Central and Eastern European region. The unit, called Krahn Central & Eastern Europe (Krahn CEE), was opened in January 2024.

The initial focus of the new subsidiary is to be on the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, with business activities in other countries to be expanded later, the company said. Cooperation with all partners in the region will be consolidated by Krahn CEE.

“We are creating a new regional hub that bundles activities in the CEE region and strengthens sales,” says Thorben Liebrecht, managing director of the new subsidiary.

Krahn Chemie’s CEE organisational set-up excludes Poland, where the company has its own office. The CEE activities were previously covered by sales offices at the locations of sister company Albis (Hamburg; www.albis.com/en) in Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary; its Austrian operations were managed out of Germany.
