Acquisition of PET films from Stäger / Sales of CHF 20m / Aerni-Leuch to operate site
Rigid films producer Klöckner Pentaplast GmbH (D-56401 Montabaur), subsidiary of Klöckner-Werke AG (D-47057 Duisburg), acquired the polyester film production facilities and the film business of Stäger & Co AG (CH-5612 Villmergen), well-known manufacturer of transparent and thermoform packaging, on 1 October, 2000. The deal is still subject to approval by cartel authorities.
Stäger´s production site at Muri, Switzerland, which has annual sales of more than CHF 20m, will be operated by Aerni-Leuch AG (CH-3907 Liebefeld). Part of Klöckner Pentaplast since 1998, Aerni-Leuch will expand Stäger´s films production at Muri and will continue to supply the company, which plans to concentrate on packaging design and “client-specific solutions in packaging.”
