Plastic tank manufacturer starts up new facility in China
Fuel tank manufacturer and blow moulding specialist Kautex Textron (Bonn / Germany; www.kautex.de) has opened its newly constructed facility in Wuhan in China’s Hubei province (see Plasteurope.com of 09.11.2015). The supplier intends to produce plastic fuel tanks at the plant using both conventional technology and its proprietary “twin sheet” process. The company is registering growing demand for this technology, said Kautex CEO Jörg Rautenstrauch.

Test production was launched in the 3,800 m² facility at the end of 2016 already, and commercial production will soon follow. The area at this location can be doubled to 7,500 m². This is Kautex’s fifth facility in China, alongside its production plants in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changchun and Chongqing.
