According to the company, the equipment, which is to have an output width of 10 m, is being supplied by Brückner Maschinenbau (Siegsdorf, Germany; www.brueckner.com). The line is expected to go into operation in the second half of 2026. It is expected to have a capacity of around 70,000 t/y to 80,000 t/y and is designed for processing both polyethylene and polypropylene. Jindal added that the Brindisi site is set to play a key role in the company’s global production network.

Treofan – home to the last remaining plant in Neunkirchen producing biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films – filed for debtor-in-possession insolvency proceedings in September 2025, after the Indian parent company said it was no longer willing to absorb what it described as “significant” losses.
