Luxury automotive group Jaguar Land Rover (JLR, Coventry / UK; www.jaguarlandrover.com) is to spell out its thoughts on trading in a post-pandemic world – and discuss the impact of Brexit – at the forthcoming “Interplas” (www.interplasuk.com) trade fair, which is set to take place at the NEC in Birmingham as an in-person event from 28 to 30 September this year. A series of conference presentations will cover everything from Brexit, the industry’s response to Covid-19, sustainability, and women in plastics.
Ian Ray, JLR’s SME plastics, injection moulding and process, will give a talk on how the market has changed since Covid-19 and Brexit, and how these factors will impact the plastics industry. Also lined up to talk about sustainability in plastics is Dan Jarvis, business development manager at UK materials distributor Plastribution (Ashby-de-la-Zouch; www.plastribution.co.uk). Jarvis is expected to cover the challenges facing those seeking to make the switch to sustainable plastics, and how these will compare to traditional polymers used by processors. The Women in Plastics (Chester / UK; www.womeninplastics.com) group will host a keynote panel session to discuss diversity and how companies can boost careers and talent in the industry.
The event’s organiser, Rapid News (Chester; www.rapidnews.com), has had to postpone the triennial event twice due to the pandemic (see Plasteurope.com of 12.01.2021).
