Thinner film for squeeze containers said to reduce carbon footprint

UK speciality films producer Innovia Films (Wigton; www.innoviafilms.com) has added a thinner, high opacity solid white film to its range of squeezable films.
The Rayofac WZPA51 has 51-micron glossy facestock and provides 9% material saving, compared to others in the range, the company said, adding that the product is ideal for rigid, semi-squeeze, and full-squeeze containers that are likely to have extended exposure to humidity.
The new product can also help reduce products’ carbon footprint by up to 45%, according to Innovia. The company recently opened a 6.2 m, multi-layer coextrusion line for low-density polyolefin shrink film at its manufacturing site in Płock, Poland (see Plasteurope.com of 19.05.2022).
