“Innovene S” license awarded for petrochemical hub in Turkmenistan / Large-scale HDPE line to go up at Caspian Sea
Ineos Technologies (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com) has awarded its first “Innovene S” license in central Asia. The process is to be used at a new petrochemical complex in Turkmenistan’s Balkan region. The greenfield petrochemical hub, currently in the engineering phase, will be operated by Hyundai Engineering (Seoul / South Korea; http://eng.hec.co.kr) and Turkmenistan’s state-owned gas company Turkmengas. The facility will include a 386,000 t/y HDPE line that will use the Ineos technology, as well as a 50,000 t/y Ineos black compounding line, the Swiss company said.

The petrochemical hub, located at the Caspian Sea, will be built by a group of companies, including LG International Corporation (Seoul; www.lgicorp.com), Toyo Engineering Corporation (Tokyo / Japan; www.toyo-eng.co.jp) as well as Hyundai Engineering. There were no details about a start-up date.
