Styrenics supplier Ineos Styrolution (Frankfurt / Germany; www.ineos-styrolution.com) has appointed Com-Ital (Montemurlo / Italy; www.com-ital.com) as distributor for its entire speciality portfolio in Italy. The two companies signed the relevant agreement in late October.

For Ineos Styrolution, the arrangement underlines its growth strategy in what it called one of Europe's "major markets for styrenics." Commenting on the deal, Peter Rath, director of Sales Construction, Distribution, Compounding and Others at the German company said, "Ineos Styrolution is committed to a dual distribution strategy maximising presence in the market."

The Italian company acts as the distributor for a number of key industry players, including LyondellBasell, BASF and Versalis. In January this year its main warehouse in Montemurlo was damaged by a fire (see Plasteurope.com of 13.01.2016), but it was able to keep up supply thanks to an extensive network of other distribution offices in Carpiano, Martellago, Leini, Civitanove Marche and Arzano.
