INEOS NOVA
EU blesses styrenics joint venture extension
Following earlier approval by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the European Commission has now put its blessing on plans by Ineos (Lyndhurst /UK; www.ineos.com) and Nova Chemicals (Calgary, Alberta / Canada; www.novachem.com) to extend their styrenics joint venture to Europe – see Plasteurope.com of 27.03.2007 and 18.09.2007.

The enlarged company and its affiliates, formerly known as Nova Innovene, began trading on 1 October 2007 as Ineos Nova (www.ineos-nova.com). The European holding based at Fribourg / Switzerland has been renamed Ineos Nova International. The EU looked at the deal under the simplified merger review procedure.
