IGS GeboJagema (Eindhoven / The Netherlands; www.igsgebojagema.nl), a producer of injection moulding tools for optical and medical plastics applications, has a new majority shareholder, investment company Smile Invest (Den Haag / The Netherlands). Since the takeover by the previous owner Nordian Capital in 2016, the company has managed to double its turnover. It has so far been largely unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic. Revenues of EUR 38m-EUR 40m are expected for 2021.

“The present acquisition is targeted at international expansion, especially in the United States,” said Peter Mertens, CEO of IGS GeboJagema. For instance, the mould-making company, which currently employs 120 people, intends to open a sales office in the US before the end of 2021. Some of the end products that are manufactured on the moulds are contact lenses, insulin pens and inhalers.
