In early February 2018, Jon Huntsman passed away at the age of 80 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The founder of the US chemical company Huntsman (The Woodlands, Texas; www.huntsman.com) resigned from his post on the board of directors in December 2017 (see Plasteurope.com of 05.01.2018).
Jon Huntsman is considered one of the great industrialists of his generation in the US. He is said to have donated more than USD 1.8 bn during his lifetime to charity. Among other things, in the mid-1990s together with his wife Karen, he founded the Huntsman Cancer Institute – a disease from which he himself suffered.
