After being officially established in 2019, production and distribution at Heroplas (Spenge / Germany; www.heroplas.com) have been completed and the company is now operational. Production is focused on customised compounds based on polypropylene, polyethylene, TPE and TPV – materials that are also profitable in small amounts. The capacity at its Spenge facility was not disclosed.
Heroplas is a joint venture created by engineering thermoplastics compounder Sitraplas (Bünde / Germany; www.sitraplas.de) and KRS Kunststoff Recycling & Service (Spenge; www.krs-kunststoff.de). The JV will collaborate closely with Sitraplas on the conceptual design of the plastics. For development and production, a laboratory twin screw extruder and another extruding line from Coperion with various processes such as underwater granulation as well as wet and dry cut strand granulation are available on site. Sitraplas CEO and owner Tim Hencken and KRS CEO Bernd Ermshaus have joint responsibility for the Heroplas JV.
