HDS-Chemie takes over distribution in Austria, Central Europe

Effective 1 June 2026, distributor HDS-Chemie (Vienna; www.hds-chemie.at) took over the sales representation for materials from masterbatch specialist Heraplast (Vilgertshofen, Germany; www.heraplast.de). In addition to Austria itself, the agreement covers numerous Central European countries, including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and Croatia. Parts of Switzerland are also included in the distribution territory, according to the company.

According to HDS, the sales portfolio includes masterbatches, compounds, and additives, which are used primarily in the production of consumer goods, toys, furniture, and packaging, as well as for colouring post-consumer and post-industrial recyclates.

Founded in 1949, HDS-Chemie has been part of the owner-managed chemicals distributor Stockmeier (Bielefeld, Germany; www.stockmeier.de) since 2017. The group provides distribution and production services for the chemical sector at more than 60 locations worldwide and employs around 2,500 people.
According to its own figures, HDS itself generates annual revenue of approximately EUR 19 mn with a workforce of 20.
