At its site in Montornès del Vallès / Spain, Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.henkel.com) is building a new production facility for aerospace applications. The new facility includes buildings and equipment for additional production and warehouse capacities. Customer deliveries are projected to start in 2019 and the facility will manufacture adhesives for lightweight construction with composite materials.

The Adhesive Technologies unit, with a portfolio including composite and structural adhesives as well as sealants and functional coatings, is already operating a production facility in Montornès del Vallès for materials used in the automotive industry.

Montornès del Vallès is also located close to several sites belonging to key customer Airbus. "The global demand for passenger aircraft is expected to double by 2034, making this a very attractive growth market for us," says Jan-Dirk Auris, Henkel's executive vice president of Adhesive Technologies.
