Italian filtration products manufacturer acquires filter product business of Nypro subsidiary NP Medical
In early June, Italian filtration products specialist GVS (Bologna; www.gvs.it) announced that it had acquired the filter product business of Nypro (Clinton, Massachusetts / USA; www.nypro.com) subsidiary NP Medical. Financial details of the deal, which comprises the “Ivex” and “Nutrivex” brands, were not disclosed. The move is part of NP Medical’s global growth strategy focus on the healthcare market, said group CEO Massimo Scagliarini, adding that, “Together with our existing line, SpeedFlow, the Ivex and Nutrivex business will allow our group to become a world leader in the IV filter business in terms of quantity and range of products.”

NP Medical currently produces the Ivex and Nutrivex products at its plant in Cayey / Puerto Rico. Key application fields include intravenous drug and fluid delivery products used, among others, in chemotherapy and intensive care.

Founded in 1979, GVS operates 11 global plants in Italy, the UK, Brazil, China, Romania and the US. Specialised on the medical and automotive markets, the Bologna-headquartered company also is represented by sales offices in 14 countries.
