Through its subsidiary Nespak (Massa Lombarda / Italy), Groupe Guillin (Ornans / France; www.groupeguillin.com) is to buy British packaging specialist Premier Packaging (Canterbury / UK; www.premier-packaging.co.uk). Premier was the UK distributor for Nespak´s products – primarily plastic trays for the packaging of fruit and vegetables. In 2005, the British company posted sales of EUR 5m. Around 85% of the total was with products from Italy.

Groupe Guillin recorded sales in 2005 of EUR 247m (EUR 230m in 2004), of which packaging accounted for EUR 222m. The operating result was EUR 22.7m (EUR 19.8m). Net earnings rose by nearly 30% to EUR 13.8m. At the same time, indebtedness dropped to EUR 32.7m – see Plasteurope.com Web of 30.06.2006.
