GREINER
Window profiles: Aluplast acquires Intertec
Effective 30 September 1997, Greiner Holding AG (A-4550 Kremsmünster) sold its PVC window profile manufacturer Intertec GmbH (Roßlauf 26, A-4552 Wartberg/Krems) to its German competitor Aluplast GmbH (Zeppelinstr. 11-13, D-76275 Ettlingen). It started as a conflict of interests: Intertec competes with customers of Greiner Extrusionstechnik, which produces tools, machines and plants for the production of window profiles with its approx. 400 employees and four locations in Austria, the Czech Republic and the USA. Intertec has two plants in Austria and Poland, with around 80 employees and an annual turnover of approximately ATS 220m (about DEM 31m). According to Greiner, Aluplast ranks among the ten largest suppliers of PVC window profiles in Germany. Its 200 employees produce an annual turnover of almost DEM 100m. Aluplast acquired Intertec in order to open up the Austrian market.
