GREATVIEW ASEPTIC PACKAGING
Chinese packaging producer invests EUR 23m in capacity expansion at German plant / Output to double
Following what it called several years of “very strong growth”, aseptic packaging material and service provider Greatview Aseptic Packaging (Beijing / China; www.greatviewpack.com) is investing about EUR 23m in its facility in Halle / Germany. The money will go towards new equipment at the site, which is to be expanded as well. Greatview said the decision follows a 55% year-on-year increase in the number of packages produced in Halle in 2015.
The company plans to start up an additional state-of-the-art printing line at the facility in mid-2017, and will also expand its logistical access to include a direct rail connection. Greatview CEO Jeff Bi said the investment will more than double the site’s annual production capacity, adding that the company has been able to grow its sales in Europe despite an overall flat market, “capturing new opportunities in Russia and CIS, the Americas, Middle East, Africa and Asia.”
