EUR 30m for more sustainability / Packaging manufacturer invests in Italy
With a total of EUR 30m in loans from the Italian banks Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit, flexible packaging manufacturer Goglio (Milan / Italy; www.goglio.it) says it plans to strengthen its export activities and promote the development of environmentally friendly plastic packaging. Half of the investments planned over the next four years are intended for the four northern Italian locations of Cadorago, Milan, Daverio and Zeccone. “Even in these times, we must have the courage to invest so that we are ready for the time after the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Davide Jarach, strategic development manager at Goglio.
Founded over 170 years ago, the company operates eight production sites in Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, the US and China and employs some of 1,800 people. In 2019, the company reported sales of EUR 373m.
In addition to laminates and valves and almost half of the manufactured flexible solutions dedicated to coffee packaging, complete packaging systems complete the portfolio. The company said its flexible packaging is also used for food, chemicals, cosmetics, detergents, beverages and pet food.
