French-based Global Closure Systems (GCS, Saint-Cloud; www.gcs.com) has launched Hector, a new child resistant closure (CRC) for bleach and similar products. The angle neck bleach (ANB) closure, which is produced in Spain for the household market, is suitable for PET, PP and PE bottles and can be used with several different formulations including ammonia and bleach, and for various cleaning applications.

The two-part assembly, which has a snap-on neck finish to retain it to the container, features a new CRC operating system developed by GCS. Unlike most of the CRC bleach closures on the household market currently, Hector’s mechanism exists within the cap assembly itself and not as part of the usual combined cap and extrusion blow moulded container neck design. GCS said this means that all the accuracy of the CRC system is contained within two injection-moulded parts, leaving the bottle maker only needing to produce a snap-on neck finish.

GCS said the new closure system is more convenient for consumers as its directional nozzle is ideal for precise dosage. In addition, the system’s transparent cap enables users to check easily whether the spout is clean. The closure is available in four colours – blue, green, yellow and red – and GCS said its unique shape and two-colour design helps it to stand out from the competition. The closure can be used on existing ranges as well as on new cleaning products.
