Groundbreaking ceremony for Russian plant / Initial investment is EUR 5.42m

Austrian masterbatch producer Gabriel-Chemie (Gumpoldskirchen; www.gabriel-chemie.com) has officially started construction of a new production plant in Russia. The company had a groundbreaking ceremony on 28 June at Vorsino industrial park, 90 km southwest of Moscow.
The facility will be built on a 27,500 m² area in four construction stages. The first phase will involve around RUB 400m (EUR 5.42m) of investment for the location and an environmentally friendly production technology with 2,000 t/y of capacity. The capacity will be ramped up gradually up to a maximum of 20,000 t/y until construction is finally completed.
Gabriel-Chemie has decided to move its production from Dorokhovo, near Moscow, to Vorino due to increasing demand for masterbatches in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan – see Plasteurope.com of 17.08.2017. The Russian unit has been operating since 2007.
