Acquisition of one “Akulon“ grade from DSM / Strong position for flame retardant PA
The compounding specialist Frisetta Polymer GmbH & Co KG (D-79677 Schönau; www.frisetta-polymer.de) has acquired the European production of the “Akulon“ grades “S225 KS“ from DSM Engineering Plastics (NL-6130 AA Sittard; www.dsmep.com). The company describes this latest acquisition as an enhancement of its product range of flame retardant PA 6.6 grades.

The material, mainly used by the electrical and electronics industry, will be produced at the new Frisetta production facility in Utzenfeld near the company headquarters at Schönau / Germany under the name of “Frianyl A 63 R V0”. According to Frisetta, it is characterised by high RTI and CTI levels. Moreover, the polymer has also been classified by the Underwriter Laboratories (UL) for higher regrind levels.

About half of Frisetta´s product range focuses on the area of flame retardant applications such as terminal blocks, screw-type conduit fittings, connectors and other electronics components. The company is one of the leading producers of flame-retardant polyamides.
