The Franz Morat Group (Eisenbach / Germany; www.franz-morat.com), consisting of injection moulder F. Morat (Eisenbach; www.f-morat.de) and cogwheel and propulsion specialist Framo Morat (Eisenbach; www.framo-morat.com), is enlarging its management team. Matthias Dannemann and Jörg Hansen take their seats alongside group managing director, Gökhan Balkis.
As director of operations, Hansen will in future be responsible for the production, quality management, work preparation, logistics and maintenance departments at F. Morat. As director of operations at Framo Morat, Dannemann will assume responsibility for production, production process management, industrial engineering, quality management and maintenance. Apart from that, he will also be responsible for operations management at the Polish assembly plant, Framo Morat Polska.
With this organisational expansion, the company aims to prepare for future growth. In the first half of 2017, the group posted record sales of nearly EUR 45m. It was primarily the components business that was responsible for the increased sales. The company has been particularly successful, for example, in winning new customers and orders for gear technology and worm-gear sets.
In the second half of 2017 and especially in the next year, large-scale projects in drive technology are also due to go into series production. "To be able to take the new business, we need additional resources. Expansion of international activities is the core element for sustainable growth and for securing competitiveness and thus safeguarding jobs at our Eisenbach headquarters over the long term," said Balkis.
An important contribution will be made by the new injection moulding site in Lerma, situated 65 km southwest of Mexico City (see Plasteurope.com of 10.02.2016). Numerous globally operating automotive companies are based in the region. Since March 2017, a large number of plastic components for convenience drive systems have been injection-moulded there. These are used by car component suppliers, for example, in automatic seat or window drive systems.
The Franz Morat Group has a workforce of over 600. In 2016, the company posted sales of around EUR 77m, with a target of EUR 100m. Turnover of the company, which is based in Germany's Black Forest region, has been continually rising.
