FIP SOLUTION PLASTIQUE
French plastics trade fair to take place in Lyon in June / Celebrating its 30th anniversary
A highlight of the calendar for the plastics industry in France, "fip solution plastique" (www.f-i-p.com) is eagerly anticipated this year on two counts: not only will the exhibition on 13 - 16 June 2017 in Lyon / France bring together a record number of exhibitors, with a significant increase in the number of companies from abroad, but it will also be punctuated throughout with special events, since it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, organiser Idice (Oyonnax / France) announced.
The trade fair brings together the entire French plastics industry every three years at Lyon Eurexpo. This year, more than 1,000 exhibitors from raw materials, tools, various services and machines sectors are expected; 150 companies will be presenting their know-how for the first time, Idice said. The exhibition space has been expanded by 25%.
In addition to the trade fair, there will be two conference programmes, running in parallel and free to attend. The subjects will be based on four themes: Sustainable Development / Processes / Organisation / Materials. Topics include the plastics industry of tomorrow, nanomaterials, biomaterials, smart composites, plastronics, REACH 2018, materials purchasing strategies, energy-saving certificates, making lighter vehicles and the circular economy.
Rubber will be spotlighted in "fip solution caoutchouc". AFICEP (Vitry-sur-Seine; www.aficep.com), the French association for engineers and executives in rubber and polymers, will organise its technical days on 14 - 15 June. It will also reward R&D efforts in this industry by awarding its innovation prize. Building on its success in 2014, the "Techno Lab" returns in 2017 to the French fairground. There will also be a specific exhibition organised by the French rotational moulding association AFR (Lyon; www.rotomoulage.org), presenting unique rotational moulded parts. Last but not least, the "Thermoforming" space will reflect the high level of representation of thermoforming this year at fip solution plastique.
