Second "Plast Alger" in Algiers
From 24 to 27 September 2012, "plast alger", Algeria's 2nd International Plastics, Rubber and Composites Trade Fair (www.plastalger.com) will take place in Algiers. The fair will coincide with "printpack alger", Algeria's 3rd International Printing and Packaging Technology Exhibition.
Algeria's plastics industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the county with a growth rate of 4-5 % in the past few years, according to organiser fairtrade (Heidelberg / Germany; www.fairtrade-messe.de). In 2010, Algerian imports of plastics and rubber technology amounted to USD 60m. Plastics packaging machinery imports also rose from USD 133m in 2009 to almost USD 137m in 2010. All in all, Algeria imported plastics products worth USD 1.183 bn in 2010, fairtrade says.
