ExxonMobil Chemical (Baytown, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobilchemical.com) says its new high-flow thermoplastic vulcanisate (TPV) for automotive interiors, “Santoprene” TPV 8211-85 M350, provides a “comfort touch” and excellent surface qualities. The product is a cost-effective solution, offering low and stable gloss levels, high scratch and chemical resistance and low fogging, according to the US group. Also colourable, Santoprene TPV M350 is suitable for door panels, centre consoles, lower instrument panels and the back cover of seats. It can be processed using two-component injection moulding or mono-sandwich moulding onto a rigid PP substrate to produce an unfoamed structure that does not indent.
