Investment in Rotterdam aromatics unit
ExxonMobil Chemical (Houston, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobilchemical.com) is to increase production capacities at its Rotterdam / The Netherlands aromatics plant by 25% for paraxylene and by 20% for benzene. The expansion will make the plant the company’s largest paraxylene production unit. The new facilities will be integrated with existing units at the site and take advantage of a number of synergies with the base plant. It will employ ExxonMobil’s “PxMax” technology and construction work will commence later in 2007.
