A conference examining how Europe’s plastics industry can maintain a level playing field amid intensifying global competition is set to take place on 18 May 2026 at Targi Kielce (Kielce, Poland, www.targikielce.pl) in Kielce – one day ahead of the Plastpol 2026 trade fair.
Being held at the exhibition venue, the Plastics Industry Meeting is expected to bring together industry representatives, policymakers, and analysts to discuss economic, regulatory, and trade-related challenges facing the sector.
Following registration and opening remarks from Andrzej Mochoń (Targi Kielce), Anna Kozera-Szałkowska (Plastics Europe Polska), and Robert Szyman (Polish Union of Plastics Converters), the programme is to begin with a session on the economic landscape. Speakers are to address the current condition of the Polish economy and short-term outlook, as well as developments in the plastics industry in Poland and across Europe.

A second session is to focus on regulatory developments, with particular attention to the proposed Circular Economy Act. The final session is to turn to trade-related issues, including competitiveness and access to local raw materials. Participants from industry, consultancy, and government are expected to examine supply security and the impact of global market dynamics on European producers.
The conference is set to conclude with a networking reception and dinner.
