The congress is centred around PLA, one of the most commercially significant bioplastics, which is produced almost entirely from renewable resources. PLA is used in a wide range of applications, including packaging, fibres for woven and non-woven products, automotive components, and consumer electronics.
According to organisers, blending PLA with other bioplastics or natural fibres such as flax, hemp, and kenaf can expand its range of applications even further.

The event aims to bring together experts from across the value chain to discuss current opportunities and challenges, as well as future prospects and limitations of PLA in various applications.
The organiser plans to record all presentations and make them available on demand after the event. Networking between attendees and speakers is expected to be supported through the Pheedloop platform and app.
The congress is set to take place at the Holiday Inn Munich City Centre. Register for the event here.
