Petcore Europe’s (Brussels / Belgium; https://petcore-europe.org) next annual meeting is to take place in Brussels from 5-6 February 2020. The two-day event will have speakers from industry and associations, policymakers and academia, who will discuss strategies, trends and solutions for the PET value chain. With more than 275 attendees, last year’s edition of the “Petcore Europe Conference” sold out – see Plasteurope.com of 14.02.2019.

The theme for 2020 is “Circularity and Innovation – Shaping the future of PET”. Sessions on the first day will focus on perspectives and strategy for the PET value chain, including the PET market, collection and recycling, Italy’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme, microplastics and the war against plastics. A networking dinner will round out day one. The second day will open with an EU perspective regarding the plastics strategy, single-use plastics (SUP) directive and the “Circular Plastics Alliance”. Following this are talks on design for recycling, deposit schemes and collection, PET trays as well as chemical recycling.
