The second edition of "Plastics Recycling Show Europe" (PRS; www.prseventeurope.com) ran from 24-25 April 2018 in Amsterdam / The Netherlands. Plastics Recyclers Europe's (PRE, Brussels; www.plasticsrecyclers.eu) event attracted more than 2,400 visitors, which was 1,000 more than in 2017 – see Plasteurope.com of 29.05.2017. PRS took place at the "RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre" (www.rai.nl/en) and featured a pan-European exhibition and conference programme for the plastics recycling industry, with over 100 exhibitors and 40 speakers. There were players from the plastics and recycling sectors, including recyclers, machinery producers, raw materials producers, converters, waste management firms and brand owners.

PRE president Ton Emans said the event's success shows the "market of recycled plastics in Europe is advancing not only in terms of recycling rates but also technology-wise." He added that the launch of the "Plastics Recycling Awards Europe" in 2018 "is a testimony for the quality of recyclates and an array of applications in which they are used."

The five award winners are Searious Business founder and ocean ambassador Willemijn Peeters ("Plastics Recycling Ambassador of the Year" category), DS Smith Plastics' "Beaulex" rainwater buffers ("Building & Construction Product"), Arçelik's "Grundig" vacuum cleaner made from waste E&E equipment (WEEE) recycled plastics ("Recycled Plastic Consumer Lifestyle Product of the Year"), "Systalen Primus" HDPE recycled resin from Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland ("Recycled Plastic Packaging Product") and Mondi's "BarrierPack Recyclable", which is recyclable PE-based laminate packaging ("Technology Innovation in Plastics Recycling").

The next PRS exhibition and conference is to take place on 10 and 11 April 2019. It will return to a larger hall at the RAI centre.
