"Biocomposites Conference Cologne" in December / European market sees growth
The "Biocomposites Conference Cologne" (www.biocompositescc.com) industry meeting will take place from 6-7 December 2017 in Cologne / Germany. Organised by the nova-Institut (Hürth / Germany; www.nova-institut.de), the event has 120 registered participants already. More than 300 attendees and 30 exhibitors are expected at the event, which will showcase current composites from bio-based materials as well as promising developments for the future. Companies and institutes presenting at the conference include BASF, Coperion, Covestro, ETH Zürich, Fraunhofer Institute, Sintef, Sonae Arauco, VW and VTT Technical Research Centre. The conference will also include the "Biocomposite of the Year 2017" innovation award.
Signs of biocomposites growth can be found in various markets, according to nova-Institute. In Europe, 400,000 t of biocomposites are produced for the construction, automotive, furniture and consumer goods sectors. Biocomposites have potential in various applications and provide a new opportunities, such as with advancements in injection moulding and 3D printing.
