Fifth "China International Plastic Pipe Conference" in Hangzhou in October / Sino-European cooperation
The 5th "China International Plastic Pipe Conference" will be held from 26-27 October 2017 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang / China. The conference is co-organised by the China Plastics Piping Association (CPPA; www.ppia-china.com) and the Plastic Pipes Conference Association (PPCA; www.plasticpipesconference.com) – see also Plasteurope.com of 30.01.2017. PPCA spokesman Zoran Davidovski (Pipelife) says, "China is now the largest market for plastic pipe systems – due to major factors such as economic growth, construction and associated development of water, gas, sewer and telecom infrastructure."
The keynote speaker is secretary general of the CPPA, Wang Zhanjie, and his talk will address technical progress within the plastic pipes industry in China. Peter Sejersen, technical manager for The European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association (TEPPFA, Brussels / Belgium; www.teppfa.eu), will present the new draft of the European standard based on the existing ISO 16422 standard for PVC-O pipes, as well as existing national specifications in France, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands. According to the PPCA, high-pressure PVC-O pipes are increasingly being used in China to replace iron pipes for water.
Davidovski notes the most recent PPCA spin-off conference in Shanghai in 2015 attracted over 300 participants. He expects a greater number of attendees in Hangzhou. Other topics to be addressed at the conference include PVC pipes systems, PE100 technology, plastic pipes system machinery and recycling.
